With celebration of a life well lived, we announce the passing, Donald “Coca-Cola Cowboy” Duguay of Bathurst, which occurred on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital.

Born in Dunlop, he was the son of the late Amédée and Irene (Chamberlain) Duguay.

He is survived by his two sons: Roger Duguay (Andrée Beaudin) of Beresford and Eric Duguay (Tamara Myhres) of Vancouver Island, BC.

He will be missed by grandchildren: Vanessa Duguay (Miguel), Rémi Duguay (Brittany) and Samuel Duguay.

He is also survived by his sister Claudette (Omer) Godin and one brother Emery Duguay. Several nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Clifford Duguay and Gilbert Duguay.

Don was a dedicated truck driver/Heavy Equipment Operator who spent many years working for Midland, Coca-Cola and Chaleur Lines, among others.

Known to many as the "Coca-Cola Cowboy" and affectionately later as "Pépère," Don continued working until the age of 80. He took immense pride in his work and was energized by both the job itself and the people around him. A true social butterfly, Don had a gift for connecting with others and was always ready to share a good story, leaving a lasting impression wherever he went.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Elhatton Chapel Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst on Tuesday, August 25th, 2026, after 1 pm from where the funeral service will be celebrated at 2 pm.

Donations in memory of Donald Duguay may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
