It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jean “John” Aubé, who passed away peacefully at home on April 7, 2026, at the age of 83.
Jean leaves behind his beloved wife of 59 years, Jeannette (Haché) Aubé; his loving sons, René Aubé (Jodie Pettigrew Aubé) and Denis Aubé (Nathalie Doucet); his pride and joy, granddaughter Britney Aubé; and step-granddaughter Samantha Basque.
He is also survived by his brothers, Ovilla Aubé of Bathurst and Robert E. Aubé of Bathurst; and his sister, Emma “Doris” Doucet of Caraquet.
Jean was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Abelard Aubé and Pauline (Cormier) Aubé; as well as his sisters, Cecilia Doucet (Joseph), Pamela Bernard (Valère), and Kay Hachey (Harold).
One of Jean and Jeannette’s greatest joys and most cherished adventures was the time they spent helping Allain and Annick Ouellette care for their triplets, Gabriel, Patrick, and Meline. The love, laughter, and memories shared during those special times brought immense happiness to their lives and remained close to their hearts throughout the years.
Jean will be remembered by all who knew him for his kindness, generosity, and the warmth he extended to everyone around him.
As per Jean’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
In memory of Jean, donations maybe made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home in Bathurst. www.elhatton.com
Rest in peace, Johnny. You will be deeply missed by many.
