Bathurst – Georgette Assaff, of Daniel Dr., Bathurst, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, at the age of 74.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late A.J. "Tony" and Rada (Awad) Assaff.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Women’s League and the Bathurst Duplicate Bridge Club. She worked for many years at The Northern Light and Brunswick Mines. She was an avid curler and golfer.

She is survived by three brothers: Donald Assaff (late Murielle) of Ottawa, Paul Assaff of Saint John, and George Assaff (Suzanne Duval) of Ottawa.

Sisters-in-law: Cecelia Assaff of Bathurst. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by five brothers; John, Antoine "Junior", Raymond, Robert, and Michael and three sisters: Marie, Joanne and Ruth.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Georgette may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home, Bathurst (www.elhatton.com).
