Mrs. Jacqueline St-Pierre Smith, wife of the late William “Bill” Smith, passed away on September 1, 2025, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 88.
Born in St-François de Madawaska, she was the daughter of the late Léonide and Imelda (Albert) St-Pierre.
Jacqueline made her home in Bathurst for the past 50 years.
She is survived by two brothers: Thuribe St-Pierre of St-François, NB and Raymond St-Pierre (Kathryn) of Fall River, NS; two sisters: Dorilla St-Pierre of Edmundston and Gemma Merrill (Thomas) of Willimantic, CT.
She is also survived by Bill’s children: David Smith (Heather) of Toronto, ON, Julia Jay Janes (Gene) of Pawley’s Island, South Carolina, Sharon Smith (late Peter) of Toronto, ON, Cindy Cunningham (Steve) of Sussex, NB and Kathy Coloris of Shediac, NB.
As well as many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was pre-deceased by her sisters: Maria Lapalme (Maurice), Thérèse Lang (Léopold), Jeanne St-Pierre and a brother, Lucien St- Pierre.
Jacqueline lived her life with purpose and a tranquility that touched all those who knew her.
