Bathurst- It is with great sadness that the family of Richard “Rick” Cormier Jr., announces his passing, which occurred suddenly on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the age of 60 years.
Born in 1964 in Scarborough, Ontario, He was the son of the late Della (Thibodeau) and Richard Cormier Sr. of Saint John, New Brunswick.
He is survived by his daughter; Jerica Biseau and sister; Jennifer (Gerald White) Cormier of Bathurst, nephews; Kenneth Cormier (Carolyn Train) and Kyle Cormier; several aunts, uncles and cousins who have very found memories of Ricky growing up and all the outdoor adventures they shared with him.
Ricky chose to live in solitude most of his adult life, with very few friends or acquaintances. His mother was a strong influence to keep him safe and loved. His buddies called him “Rick”. A few buddies made it their concern to stay in touch with him, especially after his mom’s passing and help him out in whatever way they could with drives or errands- one of them being Alfred Legacy, who desperately fought to save his life in the end.
May he rest in peace with is mom by his side guiding him through this journey in that other place - Grampy is certainly there with open arms waiting to greet him.
“The next place I go will be as peaceful and familiar as a sleepy summer Sunday and a sweet untroubled mind” - Warren Hanson.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 17th at 11 a.m. from Sacred Heart Cathedral Cemetery, Bathurst. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Elhatton Funeral Home, Bathurst.
