Bathurst - It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of Terrance Spence, husband to Joyce Spence, which occurred on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital at the age of 73.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of Melvin and Mae (Goodwin) Spence.
Besides his wife, he leaves behind his daughter, Amber (David) Huezo of Whitby, Ontario.
Grandson, Owen Huezo.
Two siblings: Doris (Kenneth) Alexander of Bathurst and Harvey (Julie) Spence of Big River.
Several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and three sisters: Marjorie, Lois, and Donna.
Terrance retired from NB Power, after 40 years, as a power line designer. He was active in his community through Crime Stoppers, the Herman J. Good, VC Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Lodge St. John, No. 27, F-AM of the Masonic Order, the Eastern Star, Luxor Shrine Scottish Rite, and an active member of St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church. Terrance’s passion was supporting the Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Montreal and their related charities.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd from 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m., Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 3rd at 11a.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel. Internment will take place on Friday in Port Elgin.
Donations in memory of Terrance may be made to The Shriners Transportation fund, St. Luke’s Presbyterian Memorial Fund, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
The family would like to thank the EMS, Emergency Department of the Chaleur Regional Hospital and the Police Force for their heroic efforts.
A Legion service will be held from the Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. and a Masonic Service will be held at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday evening followed by the Eastern Star Service.
