It is with sadness that we the family announce the passing of Joanne Roy, which occurred at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes on Sunday, June 4th, 2023, at the age of 78.

She was the daughter of the late Alfred Roy and Lucie Anne Bertin.

She leaves behind her son Maurice Devereaux (Susan) of Bathurst.

Her grandchildren: Derick (Jade Gillis) Devereaux, Gregory (late Jennifer) Devereaux both of Bathurst, Jason Devereaux and Saundra (Mike) Wilson both of Manitoba.

Great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Jayden, Brendon, Madyson, Bianca, Skye, Maya, Cody, Kiara and Alysha. Several great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Her siblings: Steven (Kim) Smith of Bathurst, Betty Anne (late Edward) Richard of Janeville and Johnny (Margaret) Smith of Alberta.

Joanne was an avid Bingo player. She was well-known for her organizing many bus tours across the country. She also helped run the curling club and lent a helping hand at the volunteer center.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes for the care they gave to Joanne and her family.

A funeral service in memory of Joanne will be held on Thursday, June 8th, 2023 at 11 a.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Chapel, (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.

Donations in memory of Joanne may be made to the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes or a charity of the donor’s choice.
