It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lucie Vienneau Couture of Bathurst, New Brunswick, who passed away surrounded by the love of her family and friends on Monday October 26, 2026, at the age of 52.
Born in Bathurst, Lucie was the beloved daughter of Carmella Vienneau and the late Gerald Vienneau.
Lucie was a woman whose personality was as every bit as fiery as her hair. Although her hair had softened and lightened over the years, her spirit never did. She was funny, kind, fun-loving, down-to-earth, and had a way of making life a little more interesting just by being herself.
But more than anything, Lucie was a family person. Her family always came first. She loved deeply and cared deeply. She was a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, and so much more to the people who were lucky enough to have her in their lives.
She leaves behind her husband, Dean Couture; her daughter, Emily Vienneau (Jeff); her mother, Carmella Vienneau; and her brother, Donald Vienneau (Nola, Samantha). She will also be lovingly remembered by her in-laws, Roger and Diane Couture, her extended family, her many cousins, and friends.
One of Lucie’s favourite things to do was to get away from everything. She loved being in nature, surrounded by quiet, away from the noise and hustle of everyday life. She didn’t need anything fancy. Give her some peace and quiet, nature, and the people and her dogs she loved, and she was happy.
Lucie was one of those people who was completely herself. She had her own way of doing things, her own sense of humour, and definitely her favourite words. She was simply Lucie - and that’s exactly what made her so loved.
She will be missed more than words can say.
Her family will carry her with them in all the little things: in the stories we tell, the things that make us laugh, the quiet moments, and all the memories we will always hold close.
She will be forever loved and never forgotten.
Visitation will be held at Elhatton’s Funeral Home on Thursday October 29th from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday October 30th from Holy Rosary church at 2 p.m.
In memory of Lucie, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home, Bathurst.
