Bathurst – It is with great sadness that we, the family, announces the passing of our beloved mother Noella V. LaPointe (nee Boudreau), wife of the late Zoël Lapointe, whose passing occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst on October 18,2026, at the age of 85.

Born in Lorne, she was the daughter of the late Harry Boudreau and the late Ethel Boudreau (nee Hickey).

Noella is survived by her three children: Tony (Phyllis) of Shediac, Ricky (Sherry) of Hatfield Point, and Donovan of Moncton; brother Henry (Barbara) of Pabineau First Nation; sisters: Opal Lundy, Lydwin Kabelca, and Anita LaPointe all of Ontario; stepson Clem Jr. of Dalhousie and Special Niece Tracy (Tom) of Pabineau First Nation, as well as many other nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Besides her husband and parents, Noella is predeceased by her brothers: Al and Hector; sister Marie.

Noella was such a special part of any community she lived in, from Lorne to her last residence here in Bathurst. She touched your soul with her kind and gentle sprit; she had a sense of humour that could make the most serious of people laugh. She truly was a strong and independent woman who raised her three boys with love and tried her best to make sure they had everything they needed. She was a wonderful grandmother, auntie, and friend to all.

As per Noella’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of life will be held in Lorne on May 29, 2027, at 1pm. Donations in memory of Noella may be made to the Bathurst SPCA or a memorial of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Elhatton Funeral Home, Bathurst (www.elhatton.com)
