It is with great sadness, that we, the family wish to announce the passing of Mr. Earl Johnson Sr. of Petit-Rocher, which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst on Monday September 21st, at the age of 93. Born in St-Louis-de-Kent, NB, he was the son of the late Alfred Johnson and the late Lillian Babineau. Earl will be missed by his partner and friend of 42 years, Judy White; his son, Earl Jr. (Pierrette); daughter, Ann; step-daughter, Nancy Jennings; step-son, Jerry White (Jenny); his grand daughters: Paula Gauthier (Luc), Carole Johnson, Cindy Johnson (Allan); step-grandson, Dustin Jennings (Delayne); step grand daughter, Courtney Jennings and his great grand children: Matteo, Magalie, Jacob, Malia, Laurence and Zacharie. He also leaves his brother, Elmer (Diane); sisters: Leitha Duguay (Maurice), Lorna and sister-in-law, Vienna and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Earl was predeceased by his former wife, Celine, brothers: Lloyd, Kenneth, Ernie; sister, Linda and grandson Bradley.

Earl was a retiree of Noranda Mines where he worked for 23 years. He also worked in Shefferville, Quebec at Iron Ore for 10 years.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held from the Elhatton Funeral Chapel on Wednesday September 30th, 2026, at 2 p.m. www.elhatton.om

The family wishes to extent their sincere gratitude to the staff of 4th floor East at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Dr. Eddie and Dr. Basque. Also, a special thank you to everyone at the Foyer Chez Joanne in Pointe-Verte for the care and compassion given to Earl during his stay. In memory of Earl, donations maybe made to the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of your choice. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home in Bathurst.
