Bathurst- It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we, the family, announce the passing of our beloved mother, Audrey (nee Arseneau) Doucet, wife of the late Gerard Doucet of Bathurst, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the Chaleur Regional hospital at the age of 93 years.

Born in Bathurst, Audrey was the daughter of the late George and Agatha (Doucet) Arseneau.

She sadly leaves behind her children: Shirley Knowles of Red Deer, Gary Doucet (Shelby), Ronny Doucet, and Danny Doucet all of Bathurst; her grand-children: Kirk (Carrie) of Bathurst and Shaun (Amanda) of Red Deer; as well as five great-grand children: Megan, Miley, Rebekah, Meleyah, and Briella all of Red Deer; as well as many nieces and nephew’s.

Besides her loving husband and parents, Audrey is now reunited with her sisters: Cecilia, Betty, Mary and Valerie, as well as her adored fur grand-baby Jazzy.

Audrey’s love for others shone through in her everyday life, she was the type to give with out the expectation of receiving anything in return. Her dedication to her family was very prevalent, she enjoyed being surrounded by all whom she loved, especially in large gatherings. On a sunny day you could always find Audrey outside enjoying the sun, fresh air and her gazebo that overlooked her beautiful flowers.

The family would like to thank the “angels” of the 5th floor of the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Keeping with Audrey’s wishes, there will be no funeral service or visitation. In memory of Audrey donations can be made to the Bathurst SPCA.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
