Bathurst - It is with profound sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Diane Vienneau, who passed away unexpectedly in her sleep at her home on Tuesday July 14th, 2026 at the age of 66 .

Born to the late Arthur and Thérèse Vienneau, Diane was raised in Bathurst before making her home in Dorval, Quebec, where she lived for 36 years. Following an unexpected illness, she returned to Bathurst to be surrounded by the love and support of her family. It was there that she found comfort, renewed love, and the peace of being home.

Diane was predeceased by her beloved common-law partner, Yvon Beaulieu, on October 19, 2025. Returning home also brought an unexpected blessing when she reconnected with her lifelong friend, Ron Legacy. Their friendship blossomed into a beautiful love story, and Diane often said Ron was the love of her life. Although their time together was far too short, the love and happiness they shared brought comfort and joy during her final months.

She is lovingly survived by her brothers, Arthur Vienneau (Annette) and Gilbert Vienneau (Murielle); and by her sister, Rita Willett (Gary).

She also leaves behind her devoted goddaughter, Tracy Grant, who lovingly cared for Diane following Yvon’s passing and throughout her recent illness, ensuring she was surrounded by dignity, comfort, compassion, and unconditional love during the final chapter of her life. She is also survived by Tracy’s children, Devin Godin (Cindy) and Ethan Grant.

Diane is also lovingly remembered by Yvon’s family, who became her family throughout the many years they shared together. She leaves behind Yvon’s siblings, Ernest (Claire), Gilles (Mireille), Pierre (Denise), Léo, Cécile, and Diane (Jean-Paul), along with their families.

She will be dearly missed by her beloved nephew André Vienneau and his children Maxime and Rosalie; nieces Rachel Doucet (Luc), Kathy Grant Hill (Brian), Eileen Grant (Keith), and Michelle Groundwater (Tommy) and their families; nephews Rolland Vienneau (Andrea), Stephen Grant (Suzanne), Jason Grant (Janine) and their families; Stephane Pitre; as well as many extended family members and friends.

Diane was predeceased by her loving parents, Arthur and Thérèse Vienneau; her cherished common-law partner, Yvon Beaulieu; her sisters, Anna Grant (Chris) and Carmella (Mike); her beloved nephew, Alain Vienneau; and is also lovingly remembered by Alain’s partner, Mike.

She also leaves behind many treasured friends, especially Darlene Labonville and Sylvie, along with the many lifelong friendships she formed while working at the Sheraton Hotel in Dorval.

To know Diane truly to love her. She was spunky, full of life, and had a smile and laugh that brightened every room. She found great joy tending to her beautiful gardens, where her favorite color—purple—bloomed among the flowers she loved so dearly.

Kindness defined Diane. She believed everyone deserved compassion, a listening ear, and to know they mattered. She gave generously from her heart, always offering encouragement, wisdom, and friendship to those around her.

Family meant everything to Diane, and she treasured every moment spent with those she loved. Her warmth, generosity, and beautiful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered Diane friendship, kindness, and support throughout her life.

Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home, Bathurst.

A Funeral Service will be held in Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.

In keeping with Diane’s love of flowers and her favorite color, purple, family and friends are invited to wear a touch of purple in her memory, if they wish.

Donations in Diane’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or Diabetes Canada.

Those who knew Diane will remember her radiant smile, her infectious laughter, and the warmth she brought into every room she entered. Like the beautiful purple flowers, she so lovingly nurtured, her spirit will continue to bloom in the hearts of those who loved her. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
