It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Van (Evangeline) Thibodeau, widow of the late Joey Thibodeau, on January 20, 2026, at the age of 88.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Chamberlain and Eva Doiron.

Van is survived by her daughter, Donna Thibodeau; her two grandchildren, Nina Duffy (Ryan Duffy) and Nicolas Thibodeau; and her two great-granddaughters, Madison and Ella Duffy. 

She is also survived by her brother, Valmond Chamberlain (the late Jackie Chamberlain), and her sister, Jeannita McCarthy (the late Ken McCarthy).

As per Van's wishes, there will be no visitation, funeral, or memorial service. A mass will be offered in her memory on July 19 at 9:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral.
