For the past 17 years, Paul had his chum, his pet cat Peanut. Paul loved animals. For the past decade, apart from rocking his chum, he enjoyed feeding the birds and observing them. Paul was an avid reader and enjoyed identifying the backyard birds. During his farming days, Paul always had a dog. He loved all his animals, and never forgot his special horse, Prince. He loved his cows, his lambs and working the land.
Paul was a hard worker and a Jack of all trades. There wasn’t much he couldn’t do. He used to work in sales at Eddy’s, he farmed potatoes, sheep and cattle. He did bodywork on vehicles, painting, mechanics, carpentry, plumbing, wood working, drove school bus, janitor, was a great cook, and had a very green thumb with his gardens.
Paul loved to read novels, check out the daily joke section of the Acadie Nouvelle, liked crosswords and visits with his close friends, Julien, Fernand and Jean-Guy. Paul had a very good appetite. His favorite food was seafood.
Paul was fortunate to stay in his home up until the last week of his life. This would not have been possible without the generous help and support from many. We would like to thank Mr. Maurice Losier of Social Development NB. Without his and the government’s help, Dad would have lost his independence long ago. Additionally, Dre. Julie LeBoutillier, Dre Doucet, and their teams, including Extra Mural, all played an important part for Dad’s home care, not only for Dad, but for his family. Thank you so very much for the loving care, support and guidance you provided us. Without you, having Dad stay at home as long as he did would not have been possible. Thank you.
With regards to the on hands care for Dad, we cannot say enough about Dorice Lagacé, Lucie Morrison and Line Morrison. You all surrounded Dad with so much love. You cared for him, laughed with him, cried with him and were so good to him. We are very appreciative that you were there. You made us feel at ease when we could not be there. Thank you so very much for your beautiful hearts and all you did for Dad and us. Thank you with huge hugs.
Funeral services will be held at the Elhatton Chapel in Bathurst on Friday, April 24th, 2026 at 14:00. Services will be followed by a light snack.
In memory of Paul, we ask that you be kind with your neighbors and take a nice cold Bud Light or a good Tim’s coffee.
