It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt and Friend, Stacy Blair. Stacy left us peacefully on October 24, 2025, at the age of 55. Born in 1970 in Bathurst, New Brunswick, she had resided in Airdrie, AB for over 20 years. She was the youngest daughter of the late William Lorne and the late Nancy Diane (Gilker) Stymiest.
Stacy leaves behind her husband Peter Blair, the love of her life and devoted partner with whom she shared 28 years of marriage and more than 32 years together. Stacy is also survived by her son Joseph Blair, her greatest pride and joy and the light of her life.
Besides “her boys”, Stacy is also survived by her brother Shawn Stymiest (Monica) of Bathurst, NB, and sister, Shalene Stymiest-Losier (Gary) of Quispamsis, NB as well as her sister-in-law Victoria Blair of Fredericton, NB. Aunt Stacy will be deeply missed by seven nieces - Olivia and Katie Stymiest; Casey (Losier) Armstrong, Taylor (Losier) Black, Delaney Stymiest-Losier and Loryn (Losier) Fowler, Natasha Whipple, and one nephew Mathew Whipple - as well as numerous friends, cousins, great-nephews and a great-niece, all of whom she cherished. Stacy also sadly leaves behind her father-in-law David Blair (Joanne) of Fredericton, NB, and mother-in-law Janet Hachey of McAdam, NB.
Stacy put much value in education and believed in life-long learning, staying up to date on current affairs and listening and learning from the thoughts and ideas of others. She loved to read, hear and share a good story, as well as a laugh. She loved meeting new people and was genuinely interested in getting to know more about their respective journeys. Stacy had the unique gift of being able to turn strangers into friends. With nieces and cousins, distance did not hamper her ability to be engaged in their lives, and she celebrated every milestone, even attending weddings and baby showers via video. She enjoyed a wide circle of friends, many of whom she had known almost her entire life.
In these last several years, Stacy faced a difficult journey with remarkable bravery, strength and grace. Seldom willing to discuss her health challenges, she always chose instead to talk about happier things. Donations in memory of Stacy may be made to Diabetes Canada, The Kidney Foundation of Canada or a favourite charity.
There will be no visitation at this time, however a Celebration of Life Service and graveside ceremony is to be held at a later date in New Brunswick.
