Beresford - It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Roger Dugas, beloved husband of 65 years to Agathe (Allain) Dugas, of Beresford, which occurred on Wednesday, October 8th, 2025, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, at the age of 88.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Théotime Dugas and the late Elizabeth Robichaud.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Colette Erbacker (Richard) of Kelowna, BC, Julie Duval (Daniel) of Hinton, AB; two sons: Robert (Glenda) of Moncton and René (Caroline) of Bathurst.
Nine grandchildren: Stéphanie, Patrick, Scott, Breanne, Jasen, Jean-François, Marc-André, Rémi, Gabrielle; his great-grandchildren: Olivia, Benjamin, Samuel, Émile, Natalie, Isabelle and Damien who also grieve his loss.
One sister, Sr. Léona Dugas (mcr) of Montréal, QC.
Two brothers: Edmond (Rita) of Sudbury, ON and Edgar (late Anne) of Azilda, ON as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by two sisters: Cécilia Henry (Rod), Isella Arseneau (Donald) and four brothers: Alban (Thérèse), Donat (Doris), Gérard (Margot) and Raymond (in infancy).
Before his retirement, Roger was the owner of Northeast Fuels, an Ultramar retailer specializing in residential comfort.
There will be no visitation at the funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 20th, 2025, at 2 pm. from ֤Église St-Nom-de-Jésus, Beresford.
The family wishes to warmly thank the staff of the palliative care unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital as well as the Extra Mural Program team for their dedication and excellent care.
