With her marriage to Arnold, Leona supported the family mining exploration business and various other employment through the years. She built her life and family on White Lane! Always the provider, care giver and selfless person that we all counted on. The household grew to raising five children, and opening the home to extended family. Leona was always present with her faith to serve others and creating a household of love and warmth. As time went on she embraced her new role as “Grandma White.” Leona was an integral daily part of her grand children’s lives, with a perfect blend of love and rules. She included them with her culinary delights and got there hands dirty when weeding the Gardens.
As a grandmother, mother, and individual person, Leona was the consistent soul that never stopped providing support and leadership with her family and friends! Her declining health in later years weren’t easy… but she accepted and faced her challenges with grace, then continued to show the same strong will and determination for all who knew her. By this time, Leona had cemented her legacy of being a nurturing and loving role model. This strength and memory is what we will always carry with us!
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A celebration of Leona’s life will take place at Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday October 29th, 2025, at 2 p.m.
Donations in memory of Leona can be made to a charity of your choice.
