Bathurst - With celebration of a life well lived, we announce the passing of Herman Comeau, of Bathurst, which occurred at Chaleur Regional Hospital, at the age of 102. Herman was pre-deceased by his wife Lillian (Hinton) Comeau in 2012.

Herman is remembered by his nieces Lillian, Nelda-Joy, Judy, and Betty, as well as several grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.

Herman’s mind and wit were, sharp as a tack, until his final days. If there was anything you needed to know, Herman was the fellow to ask. He told us he had memories back to the age of 5.

Over the years Herman was involved with the Shriners and Bathurst Curling Club and a member of First United Church. Herman and Lillian loved dancing at the Bathurst Legion and travelling. He also enjoyed playing cards and cribbage.

Herman was an avid baker, being employed at Jamieson Save Easy for years.

Herman was the last surviving member of the Comeau family. He was pre-deceased by brothers Burton and Lonnie, sister Jennie, and nephew Frank.

Herman’s family would like to thank the nurses in the Palliative Care Unit and staff of Southern Comfort Villa for their wonderful care of Herman.

As per Herman’s wishes, a funeral service will be held on Friday, July 4 at 2:00 PM at the Elhatton Funeral Home Chapel.

Donations in memory of Herman can be made to First United Church or Southern Comfort Villa.
