Big River - It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Wilbert Legacy Jr., husband of Carol (Saxton) Legacy of Big River, which occurred Thursday, June 26, 2025, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital at the age of 66 years.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Wilbert Sr. and Marie Anne (Henry) Legacy.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons; Jason Legacy and Kevin Legacy both of Bathurst and one daughter; Melissa (Legacy) Doucet also of Bathurst.

Six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Junior is also survived by two sisters; Donna Lee Theriault (Gary) and Delia Legacy (Serge) both of Bathurst, one brother; Alcide Legacy (Monica) also of Bathurst.

Also, several nieces and nephews.

Junior had a passion for hunting and fishing; he enjoyed every moment in the woods.

As pre-Junior’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral mass. Donations in memory of Junior can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Palliative Care Unit at the Chaleur Regional Hospital or a memorial of one’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home, Bathurst.
