It is with heavy hearts that, we, the family announce the sudden passing of Dick Frenette, of Bathurst, which occurred on Monday, June 9th, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 83.

Born in Beresford, he was the son of the late Edmond and the late Diana (Boudreau) Frenette.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Rita (Babineau) Frenette, his daughter Nancy Vienneau, son-in-law Steven, his precious grand-daughter Stephanie and her fiancé Keith Mallet, all of Bathurst.

He is also survived by his sister Josie Dickie (Cameron Melanson), as well as many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Linda, his brother Alvin, an infant brother Normand and infant grandsons Bryan & Ryan.

We remember a kind and gentle soul who brought warmth, laughter, and light wherever he went. Known for his quiet strength, big heart, beautiful smile and the many endearing quirks that made him truly one of a kind, he had a sense of humor that could lift any moment. He was someone who made people feel loved and always seen; a true treasure to all who knew him. He lived a beautiful full life as he was active, sharp, and healthy until the very last day. A true gift we will always be grateful for.

He will be greatly missed and forever cherished.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Bathurst Regional Hospital Emergency Department and the Saint John Regional Hospital’s Neurosurgery ICU and their Palliative Care Department for the care and support provided to him during his stay. Their kindness and compassion were greatly appreciated.

As per his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. A private gathering for the family will occur at a later date.
