Bathurst – The Rolling Stones, Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto Maple Leafs & Miami Dolphins have lost another of their #1 fans with Frank Almeda’s death, which occurred Friday May 16, 2025, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst at the age of 59.
Born in Halifax, NS, he was the Marianne Colburne (White, Almeda) and the late Augustus “Gus” Almeda (1985).
Besides his mother of Miramichi, he is survived by his sisters: Sara and Amy along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and Bathurst friends, especially Bob White since 1982.
Besides his father, Frank was pre-deceased by his paternal grandparents, Augustus and Rita (Dolimont) Almeda of Halifax, NS, maternal grandparents, Leo and Irene (MacMillan) White of Springhill, NS, sister, Allison (1970), uncle, Robert White, aunts, Rosa Benteau, Dorothy MacKay (late Herb) and Jean Almeda.
Frank moved to Bathurst in 1975, graduated from Bathurst High School in 1984 and later from Holland College Culinary School in PEI. Music was his #1 passion followed by his love of sports, driving & swimming. Driving taxi was his career choice where he valued his friends and customers.
Frank’s wishes of cremation will be followed by a private service on his 60th birthday.
