Bathurst - It is with heavy hearts, that we the family, announce the passing of Claudette Schoolcraft, of Evangeline Dr., Bathurst, which occurred Monday January 22, 2024, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness, the age of 66.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of Annie (Savoie) Poirier and the late Gérard Poirier.

Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband of 44 years, Kenneth Schoolcraft.

Two sons: Ryan (Mylène) and Eric (Daniela). One daughter, Jillian Dusharme (Terry).

Her beloved grandchildren: Logan, Charlie, Amelia and Elianna.

Her siblings: Nicole Black (Brian), Bernard Poirier (Sanova), Diane Bernard (Denis) and Gilles Poirier (Rachel.

Sisters-in-law: Penny Schoolcraft and Patty-Anne Legacy (Michel).

As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Claudette was a nurse at the Chaleur Regional Hospital for over 30 years and was a wonderful mother, who was always there when we needed her. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Claudette loved gardening and you could always find her on sunny days walking the beach shore scouring for sea glass.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 2 p.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel, Bathurst, NB.

Donations in memory of Claudette can be made to the Pediatric Unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation or a favorite charity.
