It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of Pierrette Lavigne, wife of Sydney Lavigne which occurred at the Chaleur Reginal Hospital on Monday, October 30, 2023 at the age of 72.

Born in Bathurst she was the daughter of Alfred Matte and the late Anne-Marie (Lanteigne) Matte.

Besides her spouse she leaves behind her children: Tanya (Frederic) Christie of Beresford, Ericka (Eric) Lavigne of Moncton and Lynne (Scott) Goosney of Grand Prairie, AB.

Eleven grandchildren: Miguel, Dylan, Mya, Jolene, Genevieve, Parker, Lily, Allie, Max, Antoine, and Gab.

Her brothers: Gilles (Claudia) Matte of Allardville and Reginald (Julie) Matte of Dunlop.

Several nieces and nephews.

Pierrette was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was kind-hearted and generous to all.  She was a retired nurse who continued to give to her community in several different ways throughout the years.

Mom was passionate about knitting, sewing, cooking, gardening, shopping and spending time with family and friends playing cards.  

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated from Sacred Heart Cathedral on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 2p.m. Donations in memory of Pierrette may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
