Wendell retired from the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill after many years of service as an electrician. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).

Throughout his life, Wendell was an active member of his community. He volunteered countless hours at First United Church in Bathurst and Central United in Clifton in a variety of positions, including leader of youth groups and member of the session and many other committees. Wendell was a loyal member and past master of St. John Masonic Lodge #27 and the North Shore Shriner’s Club.

Wendell will be fondly remembered as a person with a strong commitment to always “being there” for his family and friends; having a keen appreciation of the beauty and wonder of nature; and, having the wisdom to spend time relaxing at the camp, on the beach or sailing on the Bay Chaleur with his friends and family. Throughout his life, Wendell was an avid reader of good books and newspapers and a keen competitor when playing card games and Scrabble. He had an inquiring mind, a desire to be well-informed and strong opinions about many issues; with political issues being what he loved to debate with any willing, and sometimes unwilling, opponent.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for Wendell at the Chaleur Regional Hospital over the years.

The family would like to express a very special thank you to the folks at Southern Comfort Villa for the excellent care that Wendell received during his stay with them.
