Gloucester Junction, NB - Allan Daigle, 68, of Gloucester Junction, passed away on Friday (January 21, 2011) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Joseph and Yvonne (Chamberlain) Daigle.

He was retired from the former Smurfit Stone after 33 years of service, enjoyed softball, hockey, loved the outdoors, his favorite pass times were hunting, fishing and he enjoyed carpentry.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Connie (Russell) Daigle, three sons; Darren (Adeline), Danny (Kathleen) and Kevin (Paulette) all of Rough Waters.  One daughter; Sandy Devereaux (Pat) of Rough Waters.  Two brothers; Emile Daigle (Jeanne) and Lucien Daigle both of Rough Waters.

Six sisters; Emilia Duguay (Wilfred) of Bathurst, Jeannette Doucet of Big River, Dorothy Imough (Harold) of Nicholas Denys, Angela Landry (Valmond) of Robertville, Germaine Godin (Gerald) of Rough Waters and Yolande Doucet of Bathurst.

8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by a sister, Priscille and a brother, Benoit.

The family will receive relatives and friends after 2 p.m. Monday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday afternoon (January 25, 2011) at 4 p.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral.  Visiting hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Tuesday from 2 p.m. until time of Funeral.
