It is with great sadness that the family of Emmanuel Cormier announce his passing, which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Saturday March 21st, 2026, at the age of 93. He is survived by 4 children: Lynda (Gary LeRoux), Marc (France Gallien), Eva (Steve Russell), Danny (Chantal Theriault) as well as 5 grandchildren: Kimberly, Jason, Justin, René, and Jennifer in addition to 3 great grandchildren: Brynlee, Rowan and Brielle, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife (Grace Nicol), his 4 brothers: Lucien, Albert, Denis and Laurent and 8 sisters: Albertine, Leona, Priscille, Malvina, Yvonne, Emilie, Aurore and Julie.
Emmanuel was a dedicated welder for many years. Starting his career in construction, then working at SMI and eventually working at the Bathurst mill until he retired.
He loved being at his camp on middle lake and was always hunting, trapping and fishing. Most of all, he loved being with friends and family.
The family would like to thank the staff on the 4th floor of the Chaleur Regional Hospital as well as the staff of the palliative care unit.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held on Thursday April 9th at 2 p.m. from the Elhatton Funeral Chapel.
In memory of Emmanuel, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society, Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
