1932 – 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Gertrude Legacy, wife of the late Clifford Legacy, announces her passing which occurred after a brief illness, on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst with family by her side. Gertrude was 92 years old.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Edmond and Celina (Duguay) Vallee.

She is survived by her children; Dianne (John) Ward of ON, Brian (Shirley) and Dean (Monique) both of Bathurst.

Three grandchildren; René (Sonia), Bryan (Erin) and Alex (Yvette).

Two great-grandchildren; Chelsie (Vincent) and Jessy.

Her siblings; Raymond Vallee (Fran), Ida Bagley (late Don), Anita Stewart (late Blaise), Jeanne Mitchell (late Garnet), Mary Ann Vallee, Jackie Wagg (late Bill) all of Ontario and Lisette (Gerard) Vienneau of Bathurst.

Several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Priscilla Banks.

The family would like to thank Dr. Wade, the staff of 4th East floor at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, the staff in the Palliative Care Unit as well as the girls with Quality Care.

As per her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. A private gathering for the family will occur at a later date.
