It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Clifford Rodney Lavigne which occurred suddenly at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Tuesday October 19, 2021 at the age of 66.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Reginald Lavigne and Geraldine (Jennings) Lavigne.

He leaves behind three children: one son, Matthew (Alicia Staels) Lavigne of New Lowell, ON, and two daughters: Carlene Kristel Lavigne and Amber Lee Lavigne both of Bathurst.

He also leaves behind four stepchildren: Daniel Gauthier of Bathurst, Susan (Terry) Lavigne of South Tetagouche, Michel Gauthier of Pictou, NS, Jean-Marc Gauthier of Saint John, NB and Mathieu Lahay of Bathurst.

Two grandchildren: Chloe Faith Lavigne and Savannah Staels.

He is also survived by two brothers: Kenneth (Doris Alexander) Lavigne and Aurele Lavigne both of Bathurst. Two sisters: Shirley Boudreau of Bathurst and Lillian (Adrien Gauther) Hachey-Lavigne of South Tetagouche.

Several nieces, nephews, cousins and an abundance of friends.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one daughter, Amanda Lee Lavigne and two sisters: Audrey Lavigne and Barbara Mazerolle.

Although Clifford may have left us too soon, he taught us the value of being kind and humble. He adored and cherished his many friends, and we shall never forget his devoted love for his family. His sense of humor and sweet soul brought joy and laughter everywhere he went. He lived life to the fullest and he loved a good laugh. Its clear that Clifford’s kind heart made a difference in the lives of many. He will be forever missed by those who knew him and loved him.

As per Clifford’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. A burial service will be held for family and friends at a later date.

Donations in memory of Clifford may be made to the Bathurst Volunteer Centre, the Second Chance store or a charity of the donor’s choice.
