Bathurst - Mrs. Evangéline “Jean” Gauthier, 77, wife of the late Alphonse Gauthier, formerly of South Bathurst, which occurred Sunday (November 5, 2006) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy illness. Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Lucie (Roy) Lagacé. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Alphonse, in 2005. She is survived by: Two sons: Blair Gauthier (Diane) of Bathurst a Gerald Gauthier (Denise Chiasson), of Beresford Three daughters: Linda Drysdale (Bob) of Ontario Ida Heritage of St. Thomas, ON Yvette Painchaud (Leon) of Drummondville, Que. 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Two brothers: George Lagacé (Yvonne) of Saint John, NB Elmer Lagacé (Irène) of Bathurst Three sisters: Marguerite Daigle (late Nicholas) Grace Pitre (late Leonard) both of Bathurst Beatrice Angers of Bathurst She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Betty Lavigne, brothers; Leonard Jr., William and a sister; Ida. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday (November 8, 2006) at 11:00 a.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or a favorite charity.
