Bathurst - It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Mrs. Claire Cowan, age of 76 years, of Bathurst, who passed away at the Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Bathurst, NB. Claire was the beloved wife of 50 years to Clétus Cowan.

Born in Beresford, Claire was the cherished daughter of the late Emery Frenette and Josephine (Thibodeau) Frenette.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Cletus; her devoted daughter: Jennifer Cowan (Josh Chamberlain); and her two cherished grandchildren: Shelby and Justin.

She is also survived by her five sisters: Annette Milner (late Derick Milner), Jackie Frenette, Marie Doucet (Theo), Maryse Boudreau (Jean-Yves), and Shirley Vienneau (Gerald), as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Besides her parents, Claire is predeceased by her sister: Marina Frenette; her stepbrother: Edward "Neddy" Baldwin; and her brother: Roger Frenette.

Claire found great joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved walking, tending to her flowers, and traveling, especially in her retirement years.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Mario Alvarez, as well as the staff of Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, for the compassionate and excellent care Claire received.

In keeping with Claire's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Donations in memory of Claire may be made to the Parkinson Association. Arrangements are entrusted to Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst, NB (www.elhatton.com).
