It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Claude Chiasson which occurred peacefully at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Sunday, March 2, 2026, at the age of 66.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Alfred Chiasson and Anita (Couture) Chiasson.

Jean Claude will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Anita (David) of Reading, England.

He is also survived by his seven brothers: Gerard (Monique) of Moncton; Robert of Bathurst; Ronald of Bathurst; Jerry (Lorraine) of Petit-Rocher, NB; Jean-Guy of Bathurst; Thomas of Banff, AB; and Daniel of Bathurst.

He will be deeply missed by his four sisters: Janet Bastarache (Danny) of Moncton; Diane Chiasson (Alain) of Sainte-Louise; Suzanne Haché (Jean-Guy) of Bathurst; and Carole Roy (Raymond) of Bathurst.

Jean Claude’s memory will be cherished by his extended family and friends.

Jean Claude worked for most of his life in RV repair, a profession he took great pride in. Known for his strong work ethic, skillful hands, and willingness to help others, he built lasting relationships with customers and colleagues alike. He was always ready to lend his knowledge and share a story, often brightening someone’s day with his easygoing nature.

Outside of work, Jean Claude had a deep love for music. He especially enjoyed playing guitar and singing, passions that brought him comfort and joy throughout his life. Whether gathered with family or among friends, his music created special moments that will be fondly remembered by all who heard him play.

He also looked forward to every opportunity to be on the water fishing , whether casting a line at his favorite quiet spot or heading out early in the morning to enjoy the calm and stillness of nature.

He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends…..until we meet again!

Funeral service will be held at the Sacred Heart Cathedral on Tuesday March 10th 2026 at 2pm.

Donations in memory of Jean Claude may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Chaleur Regional Hospital, the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
