Bathurst - Mrs. Theresa Matilda (Nicholson, Veniot) Turcotte, of Bathurst, passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 11th, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family, at the age of 83.

Born in Barnaby, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ambrose and Janie (Buggie) Nicholson.

Theresa was married to the late Bobby Veniot, with whom she had three children: Patrick who passed away in infancy, Paul and Patricia. She also welcomed eight stepchildren through Bobby, all of whom she cared for deeply. After his passing, she married the late Rosario Turcotte, and together they welcomed their daughter, Rosalie.

Theresa was the heart of her family, known for her gentle spirit, kindness and generosity. Her home was filled with warmth, laughter and good food, and she made everyone who crossed her doorway feel welcome and loved.

She is survived by three children: Paul Venoit of New York City, Patricia Duguay (Rodney) of Beresford and

Rosalie Turcotte (Trevor Horsman) of Moncton; stepchildren: Charlene, Mona Lee, Carolyn, Devota Ann, Brenda Lee and Brent; grandchildren: Christopher, Patrick, Amanda and Sarah-Rose; her sister, Louise of Dartmouth, NS and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was predeceased by her parents, most of her siblings, her infant son Patrick and her stepchildren: Gail and Robert.

Though our hearts ache from losing our mother and best friend, mother-in-law, and grandmother, we take comfort knowing she is reunited with loved ones in heaven, surrounded by the same love she shared throughout her life.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and caregivers whose compassion, dignity and kindness brought comfort to Theresa and to all of us in her final days.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst on Friday, November 28th, 2025 from 12 noon until departure for the funeral service which will be held at 2 p.m. from the Elhatton Funeral Home Chapel, St. George St., Bathurst.

Donations in memory of Theresa may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
