It is with profound sadness that the family of Margaret “Peggy” Roy, wife of the late Judson Roy of Bathurst announces her passing, which occurred surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 24th, 2025 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital at the age of 84.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Grace (MacKay) Cormier.

Peggy worked at Zellers, Sears and at Scotia Bank for several years. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be fondly remembered by her many friends for her kindness, her love of people and her wonderful sense of humor. Her knitting/crochet skills, baking and musical talents were all part of her charm and together make her unforgettable.

Peggy is survived by her daughter Maureen Roy (Mike) and son Ron (Diane).

She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Chantal Roy (Stephane) and Mathieu Roy (Josée) as well as great-grandchildren: Roxanne and Jaxson whom she adored.

She will also be missed by her sister Arline Hachey (late Gilles) and brother Jim (Linda) as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, and her loving husband, Judson, Peggy was predeceased by her brother, David and sister, Evelyn.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Chaleur Regional Hospital, particularly the Palliative Care Unit for the excellent care given to Peggy.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 5th, 2025 at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Church, Bathurst.

Donations in Peggy’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
