  •  Emplacement: Bathurst

Nancy Chamberlain, 60, wife of Guy Chamberlain and mother to Jamin and Sally, of Bathurst, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday (January 20, 2011) following a brief illness.  She was surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of Lawny and Vi Babin, sister to Lawney (Sue) Babin, aunt to Jillian and Shayne, all of Bathurst.

Nancy worked as an executive secretary for the Chief of Staff at the IWK Hospital and also for the Dean of Medicine at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS.  Upon moving to Bathurst, she helped set up and has managed her husband's dental practice throughout his career.

Married to Guy for 40 happy years and raising two beautiful daughters, Nancy was actively involved with Brownies, the Home and School Association and jointly, with her husband, instructed Marriage Preparation courses for many years, setting a wonderful example for their two daughters.

Two favourite places where Nancy loved to spend time with her family were, "on the hill" and at the beach.  She also loved to travel, relax with a book, listen to her music and watch movies.

An exceptional wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Nancy has touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday (January 25, 2011) from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bathurst.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
